Dr. Bryan Windmiller

Dr. Bryan Windmiller holds a Ph.D. in Biology and a Master's degree in Environmental Policy, both from Tufts University. He has worked as a consulting wetland wildlife ecologist since 1987. At Hyla Ecological Services, Bryan specializes in conducting population and habitat use studies of rare amphibians, reptiles, and aquatic invertebrates for regulatory agencies. He also conducts and participates in a variety of academic research projects, focusing in recent years on: the impacts of residential development on mole salamander populations, movement patterns of wood turtles, and the distribution of aquatic beetles and bugs in New England ponds and vernal pools.

Bryan has taught wetland ecology at Harvard University (Radcliffe College) Graduate School of Landcape Design and will be teaching a week-long seminar on the inventory and monitoring of amphibian and reptile populations at the Humboldt Field Research Institute in Maine in May, 2003. He was a conservation commissioner in Concord for four years and is active in several local conservation programs. Click here to review some of Bryan's publications.
